there have been many radio stations in my life,
KFAB, KZ-100, KTTT, KRVN, KFRX, KQKQ,
but none compare to the following

KRNU - unl's radio station
there's a good chance you'll hear a good song
that you've never heard before every hour
a very good chance
plus they play my music
my band sockeye marigold has had the privledge of playing live there twice
and it's the only decent recordings we have as of jan 2001
we placed 3rd in the hot lunch battle of the singer-songwriters
and 18th on their top 100 songs of 2000

it existed from 1992 to 1996
it brought a weird hope into my life
there was more than poison and motley crue
i can remember just sitting in my room
hugging my knees
in my only inheritance from my grandmother
an ugly red and gold easy chair rocker
i turned on my christmas lights and listened
as i heard such wonderful music for the first time
i felt very lonley in my hometown
but somehow the planet comforted and nurtured that feeling

i have two friends that still have planet stickers on their cars
