it's no lie
television has been a friend of mine from an early age

here's what's so cool recently
on the food network -- the naked chef
this cute brit is fully clothed while he does some real cooking
no pre-meausred ingredients here, you actually see him pull
items from the refridgerator
it was good the first time i watched it
but it was the second time that kept me coming back
he was cooking a dinner for his girlfriend: seabass, new potatoes, salad and a chocolate torte
and he said, "a two pound sea bass is more than enough for me and jules." aaaah....

also on the food network -- the iron chef
it's a japaneese gourmet cooking gameshow hosted in "kitchen stadium"
funded by an egomaniac japaneese opera star with 17th century clothes
before i saw this show, i never thought cooking could be exciting
and i hadn't even heard of the companion home drinking game yet

honorable mention on the food network - good eats
alton brown puts logic into cooking and elements of cooking
logic??? in cooking??? but my mother cooks!!!

if you watch fox family and you wake up early on saturdays,
you've seen s club 7
it's the only thing i can watch saturday mornings

i was a twin peaks addict this summer,
but they only showed the first season

...and the winner for best TV station ever....PBS
now there are the standard reasons for liking PBS
(sesame street, 3-2-1-contact, zoom, bill nye, the electric company)
and there are my reasons:

the letter people
these phonetic friends appeared to be the sinister muppets
performing usually against sparse dark backdrops
with aliens or itchy entities attacking them
one of the best songs ever written was mr.s 's theme song
one of the best mini-series is mr.s's rescue of the letter women from queen moomba
with help from the super star

wonderworks - the box of delights
based on story by john masefield
the book is out of print
the video is only available in PAL
right to go small
left to go swift

raymond brigg's "the snowman"
have your self a hauntingly happy little christmas

robin of sherwood
my family used to sit around the television every saturday night
and watch this show
like we used to watch wild america, only this time there was magic involved
when i found the entire collection available in NTSC format this summer
i bought it at once
nasir was my favorite
